Maya and Jordi's 5 little puppies are here and thriving. We were quite surprised to find 2 "all white" puppies among the litter. After contacting Jordi's breeder, we found that the whites are in the Norrbottenspets' background. I think I can safely say that these are the only two white Norrbottenspet's in North America. We are excited to watch the entire litter develop. This U.S. / Finnish breeding is also a first in the United States. This picture was taken at 2 1/2 days of age.
Jordi, our Finnish import had a terrific show in his first showing as an adult at the International All Breed Canine Association show in Albany, Oregon held in April 2008. Jordi was up against several other rare breeds, making this Reserve Best in ShowRare Breed a particularly exciting placement.
Kita, in her very first Dog Show and shown by Sue Vareberg, won Best In Show Rare Breed Puppy at the International All Breed Canine Association with stiff competition. This show was held in Albany, Oregon in April 2008. Way to go, Sue & Kita!!!
According to the December 2007 Issue of the AKC Gazette, the Board was advised that the Foundation Stock Service (FSS) Committee recently approved a petition for the Norrbottenspets to be accepted into the FSS program.
